Today ROCKED! I woke up feeling slightly better today but I still feel like I am fighting a cold. WoooHooo! Alicia and I ran to Garland Regional Park which is a 3 mile run from my sister’s house. We did a light 7minute jog to warm-up and then for the rest of the 3 miles we alternated between sprinting and jogging between telephone poles (about 25m apart). Once we got to the park we went for an hour hike on some trails that went upupupup….. I have no idea how high up we climbed but it was pretty freakin’ high.
It was a neat park because at different parts of the trail there were these random bars set up. They weren’t high enough to do pullups on but I did manage to do some of the gymnastics moves I learned at camp this summer like hip circles and hip pullovers. It was cool.
We then tried calling my sister to come and pick us up from the park but she was shopping in San Fran with my brother-in-law so we wound up walking 3 miles home. I was VERY hungry and cranky from low blood sugar by the time we made it back.
Then… at 6pm I went to Crossfit Monterey for my first non-Toronto affiliate visit EVER! It was awesome. We did a 1km warmup run followed by 3 rounds of 10 pullups, 10 ring dips, 10 overhead squats with a 45# bar. Then today’s wod was 5 rounds of max handstand holds (these were free standing witha spotter and not against the wall).
My times (in seconds) per round were: 65, 66, 56, 57, 53
My total time was 4:47. I was the longest time of the group
I actually was mad at myself for not hitting 5 minutes. Afterwards we had to do situps for the total length of time we were in a handstand hold. So in 4:47 I did 161 situps. Again, I was a little pissy that I didn’t hit the 180’s but what can you do. I made sure to get a photo and a t-shirt and that capped off a pretty awesome day
