So today was the first time in a looooooooooooooong time that I have done anything strength-based (practicing pullups on the monkey bars at school during my morning yard duty shifts don’t count!).
It was the first time I worked out in our basement since I cleaned it up and put the mat down.
I decided to do tabata static holds:
Handstands
Bottom of squat
L-Sit
The first 4 of each felt amazing…. and then the last 4 sucked balls! I did 5 turkish get-ups on each side using an 8kg kettlebell inbetween hand stand holds and the squat holds.
I felt like a wuss so then I did 12kg turkish get-ups (5 on each side) in between the squat holds and the L-sits.
I wanted to end with 16kg turkish getups but I wussed out. Overall it just felt good to do something, felt good to do it in the new space I’ve created and yeah… it was nice to feel strong again. Some of my handstands felt awesome.
Rock it, hot mama! Welcome back to the world of using those muscles. I’m a recent returner too. We can be strong again!
